Mitchell B. Seidman
Mitchell B. Seidman is an attorney licensed to practice law in New York
and New Jersey and is admitted to the United States District Courts for
the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New
Jersey. He has practiced in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy
law since 1986.
Mitchell graduated
cum laude from Muhlenberg College in 1982 and
cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 1985. Upon graduating law school, Mitchell
worked for Speyer Thurm Perlberg & Heller in Manhattan for two years.
In 1986 he left Speyer Thurm to join Ravin Sarasohn Cook Baumgarten Fisch
& Rosen in Roseland New Jersey. He practiced first as an associate
and then as a partner at Ravin Sarasohn for 14 years. In 2000 he left
Ravin Sarasohn and joined Cole Shotz Meisel Forman & Leonard as a
partner in its litigation and bankruptcy groups. Mitchell left Cole Shotz
in 2002 to start his own practice, first, of counsel to Aronsohn Weiner
& Salerno, and then as Mitchell Seidman & Associates, LLC. The
practice operated for its first 3 years as Mitchell Seidman & Associates,
LLC, and changed its name to Seidman & Pincus, LLC in 2006 with the
addition of Andrew Pincus as a member.
Mitchell Seidman has tried commercial and bankruptcy cases to verdict before
judges and juries throughout New York and New Jersey (State and Federal/Bankruptcy
Court). He has represented banks, lenders, creditors, debtors, trustees,
and creditor committees in chapter 11, chapter 7 and chapter 13 cases.
Mitchell has been the lead attorney in various reported decisions in the
Appellate Division of New Jersey. He has authored articles on various
aspects of commercial law, and has spoken at seminars before attorneys
on different areas of commercial and bankruptcy law.
